2009 has begun!  And, Team Hot Shot is preparing for the upcoming year of racing.  The Team competes against the Nation's top boats in it's class.  Amazingly the crew consists of one, Teresa.  "She's a big help!  I couldn't do it without her.  She always watches my back in case I forget something." says Tom Bergman the S-93 owner and driver. 

"We currently have two boats in the 2.5 ltr stock hydroplane class.  I purchased an Auld mid-season last year.  I have hopes to change this boat from a 2.5L stock to a 1L Mod soon."

"News for 2009, I'm proud to announce, I will be driving a new 5L Balcer Hydro - currently being built.  I have hopes to be behind the wheel by mid-July.  In the meantime, I'll be driving a 5L Heddon Hydro till the Balcer is race ready."

"Meanwhile, all efforts will be made to change my Auld from a 2.5L Stock to a 1L Mod."

Team Hot Shot is affiliated and may participate with the following organizations:

• APBA - American Power Boat Association 
• ABRA - American Boat Racing Association
• ULHRA - Unlimited Light Hydroplane Racing Association
• CBF - Canadian Boating Federation

Their hometown is Evansville, Indiana.  One of the towns most anticipated annual events is the Evansville Freedom Festival's "Thunder On The Ohio" Unlimited Hydroplane Racing.  These Unlimited Hydro's are the main attraction.  You don't want to miss it!  A week long event which brings tens of thousands to the waterfront. 

"For you Hydro Fans - you already know about our situation here with the Unlimited's, ABRA, and the Freedom Festival.  For many years, these guys have put on a great show for us and have done a terrific job with an all volunteer basis.  I'm proud to know the Race Committee and they have our support.  I feel there's a good chance hydro's will be Thundering on Evansville's Ohio River soon - perhaps later in the season.  Please be supportive in this great tradition."

In 2007, the Freedom Festival's Thunder On The Ohio event brought more than Unlimited Hydroplanes.  New to the schedule were the 2.5 litre stock hydroplanes.  A mini-series race event was formed between cities Evansville and Madison.  Team Hot Shot placed 2nd in Evansville and 1st in Madison while winning the overall mini series by acquiring the most in points.  "We're so proud to race in our hometown!  This experience will never be forgotten." says Tom.

This is a very fun competitive class!  Operating with Ford's 2000cc and 2300cc stock 4 cylinder engines.  Speeds may reach over 100 mph!  The rules are strict and you must obey them at all times.  Modifications that exceed class specs may result in disqualifications to race suspensions.
